Escape prairie dogs Emmen Zoo

09augustus2006
The prairie dogs, which have obtained a new residence in Emmen on June 22nd, do not seem to be too familiar with their new surroundings yet. They even manage to...
move in with the moose and buffalos in the “Wild West”. It does not seem to bother them to swim over in order to get there.

The escaped animals are now marked with a red colour. This way, the zoo-keepers can check whether it always concerns the same animals. As yet, it seems to be especially the animals which have came over from England that keep going on a expedition. The twenty “British” prairie dogs which come from Banham Zoo have a lighter coat and are a lot more slender than the 47 animals of the original colony with which they share their residence.
