Animal Biology and Care

This volume is a basic text on health and caring for a variety of animal species. After the success of its first release, this second edition was further expanded with additional information on small mammals, birds, fish and reptiles.
Originally written for those caring for animals and veterinary assistants, the book provides explanations of animal health and disease in terms of anatomy and physiology, which are discussed in the first two sections. Subjects covered include microbiology, zoonoses, parasitology, nutrition and hygiene. The third section highlights specifics involving the ill animal, its treatment and monitoring. Quarantine, medication administration, the monitoring of temperature and pulse, and bandaging are all addressed.

The book contains more than 150 illustrations and many practical tips for animal care.
