Die Kängurus

This German book explores the wonderful world of kangaroos. In the first chapter other marsupials such as koala's and opossums are discussed, but the main focus lies with the kangaroos.
A subdivision of kangaroo species is dealt with extensively, along with an overview of the similarities and differences. Separate chapters deal with reproduction and feeding of kangaroos. Their social behaviour is dealt with, as well as the social structure of the clans of female kangaroos. There is a chapter dedicated to the problems of the smaller types of kangaroos and to their protection, and on managing large groups of kangaroos in Australia.
Special attention is paid to the rat-kangaroos (Potoroidae), tree-kangaroos (Dendrolagus) and the rock wallabies (Petrogale).
